about

Two legends unite to create Roots of Our Nature. Harmonica legend, Norton Buffalo and slide guitar virtuoso and producer Roy Rogers have already teamed up to earn a R&B Grammy nomination for the track “Song for Jessica”. This time they present 13 original tunes in an intimate acoustic setting.

Buffalo, a bay area native, is best know for his two decade stint with the Steve Miller Band. He also appears on the albums of the Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash and Elvin Bishop. Rogers produced and played on John Lee Hooker’s Grammy winning comeback album, The Healer, and it’s follow up, Mr. Lucky before teaming up with the likes of Buffalo and Shana Morrison.

These talented artists have decided to simplify.

Roy Rogers California

A northern California-based blues guitarist, Roy Rogers works firmly out of a Delta blues acoustic style and is particularly good with a slide. A member of John Lee Hooker's '80s Coast to Coast Band, Rogers produced and played on Hooker's Grammy-winning comeback album, The Healer, and its follow-up, Mr. Lucky. During the early '70s, Rogers played with a variety of Bay Area bar bands. ... more
